Wagoora, Sept 8, KDC: Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Balbir Singh Raina, is earning widespread admiration from educators, community members, and students for his unwavering dedication to raising the educational standards in Baramulla, with a strong focus on the Wagoora Education Zone.

A recent monitoring visit by Mr. Raina to several schools in the Wagoora Education Zone showcased his resolute commitment to improving the region’s educational landscape. The visit, conducted today, included stops at Government Higher Secondary School Wagoora, Government High School Watergam, Higher Secondary School Mongam, and Higher Secondary School Kachev-Muqam.

At Government Higher Secondary School Wagoora, Mr. Raina’s visit unveiled a heartening spectacle. A significant assembly of students, PRIs (Sarpanch/Panch), community members, and student volunteers had convened to partake in an “International Literacy Day” rally. The spirited participants brandished placards and banners, and with a pledge taken in the school compound, they set off on a rally towards the main market, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional drums. The overall functioning of the institution received a commendable rating.

Renowned educationist and botany lecturer Naseer Rather of Wagoora expressed his admiration for Mr. Balbir Singh Raina’s visionary efforts, stating, “Mr. Raina’s special focus on primary and higher secondary schools to ensure the placement of the best teachers and lecturers in the Wagoora Zone, thereby nurturing students’ potential to excel in competitive examinations like NEET in the future, is truly commendable.”

Raina’s proactive approach and steadfast commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Baramulla have earned him the profound respect and gratitude of the community, Rather said. “His relentless efforts are poised to yield positive outcomes, paving the way for a brighter future for the region’s students,” he said.

In addition, the Incharge Principal of Higher Secondary School Wagoora, Fayaz Ahmad Wani, and Ishtiyaq Ahmad Rather joined the chorus of praise, commending Mr. Raina’s pivotal role in elevating the educational standards of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Wagoora and other educational institutions within the Wagoora Education Zone.

In Baramulla, the CEO inaugurated the International Literacy Day campaign at Government Higher Secondary School Wagoora.

The mission’s primary goal is to achieve 100% literacy in India.

Raina’s engagement at Government High School Watergam saw him taking charge of the morning assembly, where he underscored the significance of maintaining clean and orderly school premises. He emphasized how cleanliness contributes significantly to the holistic development of students’ personalities and characters.

During his inspection of the classrooms, Mr. Raina expressed his dismay at the deplorable state of affairs, with litter and wrappers strewn about. In response, he issued a directive to the Incharge Headmaster, instructing the prompt removal of garbage and the initiation of an auction of broken furniture in collaboration with the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC). The proceeds from this auction will be deposited into the school’s treasury.

Concluding his visit at Higher Secondary School Kachev-Muqam, Mr. Raina expressed contentment with the institution’s overall performance. However, he noted that there remains room for improvement in the learning outcomes for classes 9th and 10th, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to enhancing the education landscape in Baramulla.
