The journey to explore the unexplored areas through the One Week International Workshop on Research Methodology and IPRs which commenced on 20th June concludes today on 26th June 2023.
The workshop was organized and designed in such a way so as to cover the wider aspects of the research and intellectual property rights to the full satisfaction of the stakeholders.
The workshop covered topics such as Research and types, literature review, methodology to be used, etc.
For the event, academicians and researchers from India and abroad were requested to act as resource persons in the workshop.
The workshop had fourteen sessions and on the day first after the inaugural session, Dr. Balwinder Singh Tiwana, Professor Department of Punjabi University, Patiala gave the crux of the workshop in his keynote address. The first technical session was conducted by Prof. Ajit Khosla from Yamagata University, Japan. He delivered on how sensors can be used for research. This was followed by day two for which the technical session first was conducted by Prof. Ramesh L Gardas from IIT Madras who gave an in-depth analysis of the Review of Literature and the second technical session for the day was held by Prof. M.A Shah from NIT Srinagar who shared his talk on nanotechnology. Day 3rd session was on Research Ethics by Dr. Anwesha Borthakur from the University of Belgium followed by Research Design by Dr. Heena from GDC Awantipora. For the day 4th, Dr. Rajni Sharma from Sardar Patel University, HP, and Dr. Harish Chander Dutt from the University of Jammu deliberated upon the Research proposal and Ecological research respectively. On day 5th Dr. Ritesh Verma from Amity University talked on Data analysis and Dr. Ritu Bakshi from the Central University of Jammu delivered her talk on types of research. On day 6th Dr. Neeraj Sharma gave his presentation on Sampling techniques and Prof Tokeer Ahmed discussed on the methodology used in Nano chemistry. The last session on IPRs was conducted by Mr. Himanshu Chandrakar from the patent office in Mumbai.
After the technical session, there was a valedictory session for which Prof. S.S Bhalwal was invited as the guest of honor and Prof. Z.A Hashmi as the chief guest. The guests were bestowed with a momento and bouquet as a token of love and respect by the organizers.
The session started with the welcome address by Dr. K.K Sharma who in address listed the objectives of the Workshop and thanked all the Resource persons and the participants for making the event a great success.
He appreciated the organisers and all the faculty members of the College. Following this there was report presentation by Prof. S.S Parihar.
Speaking on occasion Prof. S.S.Bhalwal, the Guest of Honour appreciated the organizers and congratulated the staff for taking the initiative. Prof. Z.A Hashmi as a Chief guest addressed the audience and underscored the need for such events on a regular basis so that research and innovation practices can benefit society and humanity.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Prof. Prithvi Raj and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Ankush Kumar from the Department of Chemistry.
A total of 120 participants attended the session in the blended mode.
The session ended with the distribution of certificates to all the participants. Both teaching and non-teaching staff attended the valedictory session in the offline mode.
