With the aim to generate sustainable livelihood options, Indus Towers Limited, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program has awarded certificates to the dependents of 22 slain J-K policemen on completion of Digital Skill developmentprogram.

The students who have successfully completed the course were handed over the Digital Literacy certification and a tablet device during the felicitation ceremony held at Srinagar. The programme has been undertaken in partnership with Impact Guru Foundation – a not-for-profit education societythat aims to positively impact the society.

Dilbag Singh, DGP, Jammu & Kashmir appreciated the initiative and its positive impact on the community.

The event was held at the Police Public School, Bemina, Srinagar. The felicitation event was attended by Chief Guest Dilbag Singh, DGP, Jammu & Kashmir who shared valuable insights on this initiative with the participants present at the event and appreciated the efforts of Indus Towers and Impact Guru Foundation.

Indus Towers’ Digital Literacy programme is aimed at making beneficiaries digitally literate by equipping them with IT and employability skills that will help them earn a sustainable livelihood.

The program catered to individuals above 18 years of age/at least 10th class pass and has benefitted 50 need-based beneficiaries in entire Jammu & Kashmir.

Of the 50 students, Indus already felicitated 28 students in Jammu. The remaining 22 of Srinagar were felicitated in this event for successful completion of Digital Literacy course. These candidates have qualified for entry level jobs as data managers and front desk jobs. The support of connecting the beneficiaries with potential employers for placements is also being offered as part of this course.

Speaking at the occasion, Harvinder Pal Singh,Circle CEO, Upper North, Indus Towers said,“Indus Towers is actively involved in a range of CSR initiatives with a specific focus on education and skill development.”

“Recognizing the pivotal role of education, including digital literacy, in shaping our nation’s future, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities. We appreciate the opportunity to support the families of J-K police martyrs who have made the ultimate sacrifice by providing them with the means to secure a dignified and sustainable livelihood,” he said.

“As part of our program, beneficiaries not only receive digital training and education but also gain exposure to career development skills, further enhancing their prospects and growth,” he added.
