Srinagar, June 6: Secretary, Technical Administrative Reforms Dr Abdul Kabir Dar has issued notice to a portal Cross Town News over a new item published on September 25, 2017 saying FIR had been filed against him in an alleged purchase of substandard drugs.
The notice clarifies that the said FIR doesn’t mention Dr Kabir’s name but still the portal has named him and in the process damaged his reputation.
“The article hosted on your web portal in question is spectacularly false as the FIR 22/2017 has not been registered against my client,” says the notice.
The portal has been asked to remove the news item failing which the client will have “no alternative but to pursue legal action against you before the court of law and seek the damages of Rs 10 crore.”
