Sonawari, June 07: The Sonawari Journalists Association successfully conducted its elections on Wednesday, resulting in the selection of a new leadership team. The election took place at Dak Banglow Sumbal, with the Veterans Journalist, Sahil Nazir & Young Journalist, Sajid Rasool supervising the whole process. The event saw the participation of 13 journalists from various electronic and print media organizations.
Bhat Zahoor, from Gulistan News, was elected unopposed as the President of the Sonawari Journalists Association, while Babar Rather, representing GNS News Agency, was chosen as the association’s Spokesperson, and Tahir Chilkey was elected as the General Secretary.
During a press conference held shortly after the elections, Babar Rather, the newly elected Spokesperson, expressed the association’s gratitude to all the members for putting their trust in them. He emphasized their commitment to meeting the expectations of the fraternity and assured that they would try their best to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
On the occasion, Senior Journalist, Sahil Nazir said that the newly elected leadership team is dedicated to addressing any issues faced by journalists and extending their support whenever needed.
Moreover, Sajid Rasool said that the aim of the association is to create an environment conducive to the growth and welfare of journalists, fostering a strong bond among the media fraternity.
The Sonawari Journalists Association extends its gratitude to all the participants and acknowledges their presence, who graced the occasion.
