Srinagar, May 23, KDC: The government is planning to hold a global tourism investment summit and will soon declare a national tourism policy, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy said at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on Monday.
G Kishan Reddy, at the inaugural session of the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting, in Srinagar according to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that there is a tremendous scope for promoting spiritual tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and the government is planning to hold a global tourism investment summit soon and will declare a national tourism policy.
Reddy highlighted the progress made by TWGs and successful deliberations on priority areas that are leading towards the achievement of an inclusive, action-oriented and decisive strategy for the tourism industry.
“The commitment of Narendra Modi government to work with the G20 members and international organisations to achieve the SDGs,” he reiterated
The minister also spoke about the positive impact of the abrogation of Article 370, promotion and marketing strategies, improving tourist infrastructure, and the whole-of-government approach adopted by GoI for attracting investments & boosting tourism in the country. (KDC)
