South Kashmir, May 12, KDC: On the directions of Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir Division, Nighat Jabeen, Drug control authority Anantnag and Kulgam jointly conducted raids and inspections of medical sale estabilishments in the hotspot areas of twin districts in southern Kashmir.
According to a press release, 35 inspections of medical sale estabilishments at Baba Mohalla, Pazalpora of tehsil Bijbehara, SK Colony of tehsil Anantnag, Kund area of DHpora and Quazigund were conducted by the constituted teams of Drug control officers.
Operation of 06 medical shops were disallowed onspot for violation of different provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, it said.
The statement said that team’s also seized consignment of pharmaceutical preparations with addiction liability from the mesical shop of Fayaz Ahmad of Baba Mohalla Bijbehara who fail to produce the purchase and sale records of the seized material onspot.
Further, On the directions of additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag team also raided the medical shop and house of Javid Ahmad Bhat at S.k Colony Anantnag for having inputs of stocking medicines prone to addiction at his residential house. Operation of his medical shop also stands closed for different violations of the Act, the statement said.
“Chemists in the twin Districts were impressed to maintain the records of all the schedule H1 medicines properly as per the prescribed norms and were asked to keep proper vigil on every suspicious person.They were asked to share responsibility of one and all to contribute in eradication of drug menace.”
Deputy Drug Controller, Kashmir emphases upon all chemists particularly of the farflung areas who still fail to install cctv cameras to adhere to the directive within weeks time, they said adding that failure may invite strict administrative action under the purview of provisions of the Act. (KDC)
