Srinagar, March 10 (KDC): The meeting between Government and Patwar Association remained inconclusive as it failed to end the ongoing pen-down strike by the patwaris.
The representatives of All J&K Patwar Association led by its President Abdul Majeed Malla called on Commissioner Secretary Revenue Piyush Singla, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar and Assistant Central Srinagar Adil Fareed in Srinagar in which some government officials participated via video conference.
“During the meeting, the representatives of patwar association reiterated their demands and refused to suspend the ongoing strike unless and until some concrete steps are taken to resolve their long pending issues,” Abdul Majeed Malla, president of Patwar Association told news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
“We want assurances in writing and for that we are waiting for minutes of meeting. We will continue our ongoing strike on Saturday (March 11),” he added.
However, he was quick to add that the officials gave them patient hearing and assured redressal of grievances shortly, adding, “the meeting was held in a good atmosphere.”
The ongoing indefinite strike began on 1 March, this year and entered day 10 on Friday.
Malla informed that their demands included grade pay of graduate patwaris, abolishing direct recruitment of naib tehsildar, creation of patwar halqas and gq circle, timely DPC of Patwaris and GQs. (KDC)
