Srinagar, Nov 17, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir police have claimed to bust a gang of thieves and arrested seven persons including two minors and a woman involved in the crime.
A police officer told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that “Police Station Zakura received a complaint from a house owner that golden ornaments worth approximately 02 Lac are missing from his home. Police immediately registered a case under FIR No 89/ 2022 under relevant sections of law and investigation was set into motion.”
During the course of investigation under the direction of SDPO Zakura, the officer said “SHO Zakura Insp Jonesh Verma along with his team visited the house of the complainant. One suspected minor (brother of complainant) whose phone was checked by police and found that he sent some photos of gold ornaments to someone through WhatsApp. During further investigation police arrested seven gang of thieves including a woman who had played the main role to sell these golden ornaments in the market illegally. Police also arrested two goldsmiths.”
The main accused also reveals that he and his friends invest that money on ‘free fire Game’, the officer said adding that the two juvenile names (withheld) were sent to Juvenile Justice Board, five accused are in police custody and further investigation of the case is going on. (KDC)
