Jammu, Aug 17, KDC: Six members of a family were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their home here on Wednesday, police said.
Reliable sources in Jammu told news agency Kashmir Dot Com at around 10 pm, a telephonic call was received by Jammu police from a lady identified as Shahzada daughter of Habbibullah Bhat, a resident of H. No 900 Bhat House, Barzulla Srinagar, regarding suspicion that her brother namely Noor Ul Habib is not picking up her calls and she has apprehension of something bad.
Accordingly, on this information Police parties of PP Sidhra and PS Nagrota headed by IC PP Sidhra SI Majid Hussain and SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Partap rushed to the spot and found that the doors of the said house were bolted from inside.
During the close observation, it was found that a foul smell was emanating from the house and the doors of the house were forcibly broken open in presence of civil witnesses (locals of Tawi Vihar Colony Sidhra).
It was found by the Police party that the dead bodies were lying in the said house. On this a team of FSL and Photographers of Crime section of PCR were immediately called in for the probe into the Inquest proceedings started thereof.
Prima facie it appears to be a case of poisoning, though it has to be ascertained whether it is a case of forced poisoning or otherwise, sources said.
The locals of the area informed that the dead 4 bodies are of, The locals of the area informed that the four bodies are of, Noor ul Habib son of Habib Ullah, Sakina Begum Widow daughter of Ghulam Hassan, Sajad Ahmed son of Farooq Ahmed Magray and Nassema Akhter daughter of Lt Ghulam Hassan.
They also informed that there is another house which belongs to who is one of the deceased and the police party went there and opened the doors and found that two more dead bodies of Rubina Bano daughter of Gh Hussain and Zafar Salim son of Ghulam Hussain, are lying in that house.
Similar in-depth probe has started to ascertain the cause as well as motive behind the casualties and to find the reasons for the same.
Senior Police Officers including SSP Jammu Chandan Kolhi also rushed to the spot and directed for a thorough probe into the incident.
A police officer told KDC that all the bodies have been shifted to GMC Jammu for autopsy and shall be handed over to the legal heirs after medico legal formalities.
He further informed that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and a SIT headed by Sanjay Sharma SP Rural, Pardeep Kumar SDPO Nagrota, Insptr Vishav Partap SHO Nagrota and SI Majid Hussain IC PP Sidhra has been formed so as to interrogate the matter.
