Srinagar, July 06, KDC: J&K Students Association here today extended their gratitude to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Secretary Tribal Affairs Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (IAS) for launching first of its kind initiative to provide coaching for meritorious tribal students preparing for NET and JEE entrance exams.

In a Statement to KDC, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said, ” It is a highly appreciative step to sponsor free NEET and JEE coaching of tribal students. This scheme will enable poor and downtrodden tribal students to pursue their academic goals.” “Many students are highly competent and able but cannot afford the private coaching of these entrances ,due to which their dream of qualifying such exams are not fulfilled. This scheme will give wings to the students of the tribal community”, he added.

The association thanked Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for bringing to fruition the recently made promise that the Jammu and Kashmir administration accords top priority to the education of tribal students and will be launching many schemes aimed at providing and supporting their quality education.

Tribal Head J&K Students Association Aamir Anees said that the association is very much thankful to secretary tribal affairs for launching ‘Host 50 ‘ that would sponsor the tribal meritorious students for NEET /JEE coaching. “This scheme would ensure to enable the tribal students to compete in competitive exams and would serve the purpose of ‘Right to equality ‘ and ‘ Right to quality education”, said Anees.

“The tribal affairs department has set the inspiration to other departments as well, especially to the school education department . We are hopeful to see the school education department coming up with such schemes as well, to provide such facilities to other underprivileged students also. On one hand toppers shall be encouraged to perform much better while on the other hand schemes and other student centric & empowering schemes for hostel students, mostly from the economically weaker section of the society should be prioritised; he concluded.
