Srinagar, July 05, KDC: Alleging that the Cardiac ICU at SKIMS Soura has been closed by the hospital administration and is being shifted to some unsafe place, faculty members of a major department (CVTS) have gone on protest from 29 June 2022 demanding the stationing and up gradation of the ICU at SKIMS, sources in the hospital said.

Reliable sources within the hospital told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the hospital operations are not going smoothly as far as the up gradation of Cardiac ICU is concerned as faculty members of a major department (CVTS) at SKIMS have gone on a protest leave from 29th of June 2022 as they had requested for up gradation of Cardiac ICU.

“Repeated requests by the faculty members of a major department (CVTS) for the up gradation of cardiac ICU were being ignored by the hospital administration, which is posing a life threat to the patients operated for hearts. They have gone on protest from 29th of June 2022”, said a hospital insider.

As per the reports after the closure of Cardiac ICU by the administration and it’s shifting to some unsafe place, the faculty members have repeatedly registered their protest both verbally as well as in writing before the administration.

Insiders at the hospital alleged that the faculty members along with their staff members have been harassed time and again by the Hospital administration, in particular by the Medical Superintendent SKIMS, who has been sending team of security personnel to forcibly evacuate the Cardiac ICU and shift the sick and operated heart patients who have undergone major Cardiac Procedures recently.

“The faculty of CVTS Department are not able to work smoothly and have no choice than to proceed on “Protest Leave W.e.F 29th of June- 2022”, said an insider.

Patients aswell as attendant’s have urged the Lt Governor led administration to look into the matter on priority. (KDC)
