Srinagar, July 2, KDC: The Government has ordered termination of services of an In-charge Assistant Executive Engineer in Jal Shakti Department for un-authorized absence since 2016.

According to an order in this regard, Nuzhat Shanoo, Incharge AEE (Civil), daughter of M S Salmani, resident of 183, Government Housing Colony, Sanat Nagar, Rawalpora, Srinagar, has been terminated from the services of the State for her unauthorized absence from duty with effect from October 27, 2016.

She was appointed as Assistant Engineer (Civil) in 2007 and had availed study leave for 24 months with effect from January 1, 2011 followed by an extension of one year. However, instead of joining back the duties, she availed maternity leave of 180 days, which was also sanctioned on post facto basis. Thereafter 22 days commuted leave and 524 days extra ordinary leave (without pay) with effect from January 23, 2015 to June 29, 2016 were also sanctioned in her favour on post-facto basis.

Despite direction by the Chief Engineer Kashmir to resume her duties, she applied for Child Care Leave for two years with effect from April 1, 2017, which was not sanctioned in her favour. As she did not respond to repeated notice to resume her duties, the Competent Authority decided to take action in terms of Article 113 of J&K Civil Service Rule and terminated her from the Government services.
