Srinagar, June 20, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference State Youth President and former Deputy Mayor SMC Sheikh Mohammad Imran on Monday said that he is surprised to witness the colossal difference between the application fee charged by the Central Government recruitment bodies and J&K specific recruitment commissions & boards.

Imran in a statement issued to the press said that while SSC charges Rs. 100 as application fee from its aspirants for the Non-Gazetted posts, JKSSB is charging Rs. 500 for the same post. UPSC application fee for Gazetted posts is Rs 100 but JKPSC charges Rs 1000 for the same Gazetted post.

“I wonder why this disparity? The competent authorities should have shown utmost concern for the alleviating the sufferings of the unemployed youth & taken apposite steps for generating ample employment opportunities in J&K but unfortunately it appears that by charging such exorbitant application fee these selection bodies are adamant on pushing our youth further to the wall,” he said.

Imran said while interacting with numerous aspiring youth he humbly suggests that J&K recruitment bodies need to follow the example of National level recruitment bodies and charge minimal application fee from the aspirants who presently have no defined source of income. It will encourage more youth to participate in these exams and excel in the fields they aspire for.

“This needs to be understood that government recruitment drives are primarily focused on providing equal opportunities to our youth. It must be ensured that one should complain tomorrow that they were made to fail because an inordinate & unaffordable application fee was being charged from them,” he emphasized. (KDC)
