Srinagar 19 May (KDC): The Meteorological Department on Thursday said that they are expecting a light to moderate rain with hailstorm and gusty winds over most parts of Kashmir during 19th May to 23rd May.

An official of the MeT department in a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning accompanied with hailstorm and gusty winds (30-40 Kmph) over most parts of Kashmir and isolated places of Jammu and Ladakh division during Thursday to next Monday.

“Farmers are advised to avoid/suspend any kind of chemical spray including fertilizer application and irrigation,” said the MeT official in the statement, adding that Shikara riding and boating in Dal Lake and at other places should also be avoided (during the period).

In view of the chances of inclement weather with gusty winds between 19th to 23rd May, the MeT official also advised the people to avoid cable car riding in Gulmarg. (KDC)
