Srinagar 18 May: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir P K Pole on Wednesday said that he has given directions that the migrant employees should be posted in main towns and less sensitive areas.
“Several service-related issues including duties in far-off places, transfers of couples at the same place, and other related issues falling under my jurisdiction will be expedited,” Pole said.
P K Pole, while addressing a press conference along with Director Health Services Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, said a week-long Mega Health Camp was organized by the district administration in collaboration with Rotary Club India from 11th to 18th May 2022 across four hospitals in the Kashmir division.
“So far in this camp, 2120 surgeries have been performed which include 259 gynaecological surgeries, 171 general surgeries, 538 eye surgeries, 38 orthopaedic surgeries,53 ENT surgeries, 624 minor surgeries, and 337 dental surgeries. It is worth mentioning that all these surgeries were done free of cost under the AB PMJAY scheme (golden card),” he said
Pole emphasized that at the request of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, the camp will be organized in South Kashmir as well.
There were nearly 8000 backlog surgeries due to the third wave of Covid-19 and in the last one week, over 2100 major surgeries were conducted, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad said.
He further said that they have already received directions from the Divisional Commissioner to clear the backlog of surgeries. We will do that at the earliest.
About the heart transplantation surgeries, he said that a survey will be conducted to identify the patients, whose registration will be done following which the procedure will be carried out.
