Srinagar, Feb 21, KDC: Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Parvaiz Qadri reviewed the arrangements for the ensuing auspicious day of Mehraj –ul- Alam here today.
The Deputy Mayor stressed on ensuring all arrangements are put in place across all the places where gatherings are held during the celebrations of Shab-I-Mehraj.
SMC Sanitation wing was instructed to deploy additional safai karamcharis at all required places to ensure proper cleaning of religious place. Mobile toilets facility will be also available to the devotees.
He also emphasized on uninterrupted power and water supply with additional water tankers and gensets are stationed at all required spots during the festival.
While chairing the meeting, he enjoined on stakeholders to ensure compliance of Covid SOPs particularly wearing of masks by devotees and maintenance of physical distance. He said that Covid is not over yet so the people need to observe guidelines in letter and spirit. He enjoined officers to remain vigilant and remind people of covid protocol by making frequent announcements.
The meeting was attended by Chairman Health and Sanitation, Arif Raja, concerned Corporator, officers from SMC and officers of Waqf Board besides other officials were also present in the meeting.
