Srinagar, Feb 05, KDC: Encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Zakoora area of summer capital Srinagar.
Reports reaching KDC said that a joint team of Srinagar Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
A senior police official also confirmed to KDC about exchange of firing between militants and security forces. (KDC)
