Baramulla Police arrested 14 gamblers from several villages for playing cards and seized over 36 thousand rupees.
In a statement issued to media, the police spokesman said, Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding presence of gamblers at Takiya Batpora, Hardu Aboora, Hanjiwera Bala and Kripalpora Payeen jurisdiction of Police Station Kunzer and Pattan, reacting on the information, police team of Pattan and Kunzer stations rushed towards spot and arrested fourteen gamblers from the said spots.
“Playing cards along with stake money of ?36,440/- were recovered from them. Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Kunzer/ Pattan and investigation set into motion,” the spokesman said.
