Srinagar, Jan 12, KDC: A Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel, Jaish militant was killed while three soldiers and two civilians were injured in an encounter in Pariwan village of southern Kulgam district.
A police officer told KDC that a cop, un-identified Jaish militant was killed while three soldiers were also injured in the gunfight. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment, he said.
He said two civilians were also injured in the operation.
The slain cop was identified as Rohit Chib.
Earlier, reports reaching KDC said that operation was launched on specific inputs this evening. As the security forces approached the suspected area spot, the hiding militants fired at them, which was retaliated triggering an encounter. (KDC)
