Pulwama, Dec 17, KDC: S J M Gillani, Additional Director General of Police Armed Jammu & Kashmir Friday visited the IRP-23rd Battalion in Lethpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and hold a Darbar and interacted with the policemen who are performing anti-militancy and law and order duties in various parts of Kashmir.
In a statement to Srinagar base news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) police said that “SSP Awantipora and Principal Commando Training Centre Lethpora were present during the interaction viz-a-viz, strengthening of operation grid and making law and order duties incident free.”

“On the onset of the meeting, Commanding officer IRP-23 rd Battalion Atul Sharma welcomed the ADGP and presented a detailed description of the Battalion, its functioning in anti-militancy, law and order and other areas and projected the requirements to counter the evil designs of militants and their supporters,” they said.
They further said “The ADGP Armed deliberated upon the responsibilities of J&K Police in the times, especially when anti-nation and other inimical elements are hell bent to propagate their agenda through violence and other means. To counter the saboteurs of peace, maintenance of rule of law should be the grand norm a member of J&K Police should be committed with.”
“The senior officer directed and divulged the importance upon the co- ordination between training section, executive police and the Armed Police for effective policing.”
They said “The ADGP carried a thorough inspection of the construction work being done to raise the Battalion Headquarter IRP-23 rd Battalion. He praised the Jawans of the Battalion for their performance in counter –militancy and law and order duties,” adding that on the conclusion of the Darbar, the ADGP Armed was presented a vote of thanks.
