After 7 years Bandipora court sentences 8 accused to imprisonment in murder case of Sarpanch

Srinagar, Nov 02, KDC: A local court Tuesday convicted eight accused persons involved in a murder case of a Sarpanch in 2014 in Kathpora area of Hajin in north Kashmir Bandipora district.

As per details available with Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora Mohammad Ibrahim wani convicted eight accused persons accused of murdering a sarpanch namely Abdul Rasheed Wagay alias Rasheed Kaabli from Kathpora village of Hajin in November 2014.

As per the details police had registered a case FIR No. 105/2014 U/S 302,147,149,506, 427,341,34 RPC at police station Hajin after the occurrence of the offence and later the charge was framed U/S 302 RPC.

“However, on the basis of evidence during trial section 304-ii RPC was established against one accused namely Ghulam Ahmad Parray, while rest of the accused persons have been convicted U/S 147, 341 RPC.

Notably, the state and family of the victim was represented by chief prosecuting officer Bandipora, Abdul Majeed Bhat in the court.

Officials said that arguments on the quantum of punishment to the accused persons will be decided on November 05.

The other accused have been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Sultan Parrey, Bashir Ahmad Parrey, Showkat Ahmad Parrey, Firdous Ahmad Parrey, Feroz Ahmad Parrey and Hajira Begum—all residents of Kathpora Hajin. (KDC)
