SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Apni Party Youth Provincial President Kashmir Khalid Rathore on Monday expressed deep anguish over the dispirited attitude adopted by Director EDI Kashmir with regards to the numerous pending loan cases of the youth who desire to set-up their own enterprises.
In a statement issued here according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), Rathore said that various youth and student delegations have been persistently calling on him while complaining about the indifferent response of EDI Kashmir.
“While the Government has introduced various schemes for new budding entrepreneurs who wish to start their own enterprise and even provide employment to others, the lackadaisical attitude of EDI Kashmir is further adding to the existing miseries of the youth,” he said.
Rathore said that the delegates asserted that the EDI building appears to be deserted and most of the time the Director EDI Kashmir, who is supposed to guide and assist the youth, remains absconding.
“The loan cases for setting up new enterprises have already been approved but still these vibrant and zealous youth are being pushed from pillar to post for reasons best known to EDI officials. Such actions are unwarranted and further alienate the youth who wish to get involved in purposeful activities and support their families,” he said.
Furthermore, Rathore appealed to the administration to take a serious cognizance of this matter and ensure that the youth of Kashmir do not suffer anymore.
“To counter dependency on government jobs and explore sustainable employment opportunities, entrepreneurship is the answer to these challenges. But it is extremely unfortunate that youth in Kashmir who aspire to establish their own start-ups have to face immense despondency by virtue of a sadistic bureaucratic negligence. However, I firmly hope that the UT administration of J&K will not fail the hopes of these competent youth and ensure that they get access to all facilities and schemes announced by the government in their favor,” he asserted.
