All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) led by its incarcerated chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has “completely rejected and denounced the propaganda by authorities” that its executive leadership sold admission seats in Pakistan.
The APHC in a statement said it “wants to put on record that this is completely unfounded and can be verified by those students or parents whom they (Hurriyat’s executive leadership) have recommended (that) many among the beneficiaries were from among economically weak sections”.
The APHC said that its chairman Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, who is also the Mirwaiz of Kashmir, “has all along been giving recommendation letters to students for their benefit who come to him asking for it, for colleges and universities in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Turkey and elsewhere”.
Meanwhile, the APHC reiterated that the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with regard to the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in a peaceful and fair manner “cannot be altered despite repression, legal tactics or propaganda”.
The APHC said that under the leadership of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, it “will always represent those aspirations and seek their fulfilment through its principled stand of dialogue and deliberations among the stakeholders of the conflict”.
