Srinagar, Aug 10, KDC: Two persons were killed and one person sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a car and truck-trailer inside Chenani-Nashri tunnel on Jammu Srinagar National Highway on Monday, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that a young man identified as Ghulam Mohammad Ganie (Pup Jan) a Govt employee, a resident of Handwara  along with other 2 persons met with an accident on Jammu-Srinagar Highway after their Car bearing  registration no JK09-5295  met with truck-trailer in an accident inside Chenani Nashri Jammu.

He said that in the incident two persons lost their lives while another was shifted to hospital in critical conditions for treatment.

The two persons who lost lives were identified as Gulam Mohammad Ganaie son of Abdul Ahad Ganaie resident of Handwara and Gulzar Lone son of Mohd Lone resident of village Watrad in Khansahib area of Budgam while as injured was identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of Yangora in Kheer Bhawani area of Ganderbal.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have set further investigation into motion. (KDC)
