Srinagar, Aug 09, KDC: Suspected militants on Monday shot dead a BJP sarpanch and his wife presently staying in a rented residence in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Sources told Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that a Sarpanch identified as Ghulam Rasool of Redwani Bala, who is affiliated with BJP and his wife Jawhara Banoo were fired upon by suspected militants in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag district adding that Ghulam Rasool was district president Kissan Morcha BJP Kulham
They said the couple was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment. However, they succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
A case is being registered in this regard adding that the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. (KDC)
