Srinagar, July 14, KDC: Former Joint Director IMPA from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has passed away after a prolonged illness in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) Haji Mohammad Maqbool Rather (KAS) retired joint director IMPA on yesterday evening passed away after a prolonged illness.
Rather, a resident of Ajas in Bandipora district was presently staying in Wanbal area of Rawalpora in Srinagar. The deceased was an elder brother of Chief Engineer R&B late Mohammad Yousuf Rather.
Hundreds of people turned up at his Namaz- i -Janaza held at AJas. Later he was taken to his ancestral graveyard to be laid to rest.
The deceased was a pious man of exemplary character and outstanding performance who dedicated his whole life to the benefit of mankind and tried his level best to disseminate his knowledge in the every nook and corner of his area. He lived a simple and austere life. His Contribution will be remembered forever and shall be a beacon light for society, said a local from AJas.
Meanwhile, condolences have poured in from different sections of society on the sad demise of the Former Joint director IMPA.
Many citizens took to social networking sites to express their grief and shock over his death. (KDC)
