Kupwara, May 23, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a militant associate and eight Kilogram of Herion worth crores of rupees in Kralpora area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Police in a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said that “On a specific information, Kupwara Police have busted a Pakistan sponsored Narco-Terror Module and arrested 01 militant Associate identified as Mujasir Ahmad Lone S/o Muzaffer Ahmad Lone R/o Karen bala.”
Incriminating Material Narcotic substance Heroin 08 kgs (worth 50 Cr. Market value) were recovered from his possession.
The other absconded involved persons have been identified and efforts are being taken to arrest them.
“The module was in close connection with Pakistan based handlers and were involved in drug trade & assisting financially to active terrorists of the Valley. The recoveries also exposed the inter connection between drug dealers and militants.
They said “The module was working for militants to strengthen their activities in the valley and were misguiding and motivating the local youth of the Valley to join militant ranks.”
A Case under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Kralpora and investigation has been taken up, it said
Kupwara Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding Drug Peddlers/Smugglers so that the curative steps can be taken against them, the statement added. (KDC)
