Srinagar, Apr 30: International Forum For Justice Human Rights JK on Friday sharply reacted to the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary who met with United Nations Human Rights Chief but didn’t make a mention of Kashmir and in fact only raised the human rights situations of China and Myanmar while conveniently skipping the mention of human rights abuses in Kashmir.
In a statement, the chairperson of IFJHRJK Chairman Mohammad Ahsan Untoo said that UK has always been hypocritical in its policies and this was reflected in their Foreign Secretary’s statement wherein he skipped mentioning the rights abuses in Kashmir.
Untoo said that when Indians were demanding freedom from the Britishers, it was also then that the britishers acted like hypocrites.
He said that the Kashmiri’s living in UK should stop looking at the UK as a Messiah and in fact look out for other options. “UK is not the end of the world. Kashmiri’s need to look beyond them,” he said, adding that those Kashmiri’s who have went to UK as ambassadors of Kashmir should devise a strategy to address the issue of Kashmir without looking at what the people in the corridors of power in UK do.
He said that the Kashmiri ambassadors have to rise above their self interest and fight for the common interest of the Kashmiri people.
He said that the UK never had any sympathies with the people of Kashmir and their so called sympathy over the years was just a mirage.
it is only the people of Kashmir who will have sympathies with their cause, he said in his statement.
