Srinagar, Apr 27, KDC: An army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Banihal area of Ramban district on Tuesday morning.
A police officer told a local news agency, Kashmir Dot Com – (KDC) that an army man identified as Asangeppa Madar aged around 28, son of Parasappa, a resident of Layadagundi Bagalkot of Karnataka shot himself with his service rifle at R-Center Camp Banihal.
He said following the gunshot, the colleagues rushed towards him and found him in a pool of blood, adding that he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
He said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been initiated in this regard. (KDC)
