South Kashmir, Apr 09, KDC: Five militants have been killed in two ongoing encounters that raged between security forces and militants in South Kashmir’s Shopian and Pulwama.
A senior police official told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that in Nowbugh area of Tral in South Kashmir’s PD Awantipora, on Friday morning two militants including AGuH Chief Imtiyaz Shah alis Ghazi Khalid Ibrahim were killed in early morning encounter adding that the operation was launched on the specific inputs and ended without any collateral damage.
Sources said in another gunfight in Shopian, three militants have been killed while AQ-linked Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind’s deputy commander is trapped in Jan Mohalla area of Shopian district. He’s also said to be cousin of ex Hizb-ul-mujahideen chief Burhan Wani and brother of his (Burhan Wani’s) mentor, Adil Mir. So far four soldiers including an officer have been injured in this encounter. Two more militants are still holed up inside a local mosque; attempts to persuade them to surrender have failed.
