Srinagar, Apr 08, KDC: The mastermind of attack on a local contractor confessed “attempt to murder” of said contractor before media persons here at Press Enclave in Srinagar.
According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), a guy who introduced himself as Majid Khan a resident of Saraibala said that he was misused by his company to attempt murder of local contractor Naseer Ahmad.
Naseer Ahmad, a contractor by profession, resident of Padshahibagh Srinagar was attacked on 15th August last year.
After he recently got a new life and recovered from a deadly disease, Majid felt extremely guilty and wanted to confess the attack and apologize to Naseer and his family.
According to Majid, he worked as a salesman here but he was offered a job by a sand extractor company back in 2020 and he thought it was better than salesmanship so he joined the company.
The company was new in Kashmir and he got at least 20 of his friends recruited in the company, said Majid.
While talking to KDC, Majid said “The company misinformed us that there was a local (Naseer) who is going to bring in labourers from outside and it’s better for him to be eliminated”.
“They brainwashed us in a proper way to believe all that stuff. The company later halted our salaries and told us to attempt the murder”, he added.
Majid says they were prepared by the bosses- Harry Singh, Abhijit Singh residents of Pathankot and two locals Shahnawaz Reshi of Soiteng, Showkat Ahmed of Athwajan to complete the task.
“We were pressurized, frustrated as they were going to bring in non locals to replace us, there seemed no way ahead and we went on to attempt the heinous crime”, he added.
Shahnawaz forwarded the instructions, location, photographs of Naseer to Majid and guided him through all this.
“Their next target was Ubaid Chacha, a local contractor of Lasjan and a crusher operator of Pulwama”, Majid confessed this in Srinagar’s press enclave.
Majid said his only intention of opening up before the media is to apologize to Naseer and his family.
He requested higher authorities to intervene in these indifferences between companies and watch out any further “attempt to murder”.
Later Police Station Kothibagh detained him along with two other youths for further questioning. (KDC)
