Srinagar, Jan 12, KDC: Mooj Kasheer, a non-governmental organisation distributed masks at certain places in central Kashmiri’s Srinagar district to inform people about the new corona virus strain on Tuesday.
Mooj Kasheer welfare trust is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation which works for the upliftment of poor and deprived communities. In a mask distribution awareness programme, Mooj Kasheer distributed masks at certain places in Srinagar including SMHS hospital and SMC office.
“We reached many places like Kak sarai, Gole market Karan nagar and SMC office karan nagar to distribute masks and to make people aware about new coronavirus variant,” said chairman of Mooj Kasheer Amir Rashid Wani.
Five members of the organisation were distributing the masks including chairman Amir Rashid Wani.
“Our organisation took this step to aware people of Jammu & Kashmir about the new corona virus strain,” said another member of the organisation.
The organisation planned to distribute masks at crowded places in the valley.
“We choose crowded places to distribute masks. Because people were seen without masks at various crowded places,” he added.
The organisation is also planning to spread awareness by distributing masks in other parts of the valley as well. The organisation urges people of Kashmir to follow sops.
“We request people of Jammu & Kashmir to wear masks to save their lives and the lives of their loved ones,” Amir added. (KDC)
