Srinagar, Dec 26, KDC: Two unidentified militant has been killed and two army soldiers were injured in an ongoing encounter in Kanigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official told news agency KDC that two unidentified militant were killed so far in an ongoing encounter. Two unidentified bodies were recovered from the spot; however identity of the slain militant’s is yet to be ascertained, he added.
He further said that two army soldiers were also injured yesterday evening as militants tried to break the multi-layer cordon, however forces again engaged them.
Earlier on Friday an official said that a joint team of security forces launched a massive cordon and search operation in the Kanigam area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, 2G internet services have been snapped in Southern Shopian district. (KDC)
