Srinagar, Dec 02, KDC: Composite Regional Centre (C.R.C), in collaboration with Department of Students Welfare (DSW) and University of Kashmir on Thursday organized International day of persons with disabilities at Ibn-e-Khaldoon auditorium, Allama Iqbal library, Kashmir University.
According to news agency Kashmir dot Com-(KDC), the event was inaugurated by the vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof. Talat Ahmad.
In his presidential speech Prof. Talat showed his pleasure that CRC J&K is running rehabilitation courses in the field of disability rehabilitation which are affiliated by the University of Kashmir and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and expressed that KU will extend every co-operation in accommodating new academic rehabilitation courses in future.
On the occasion, Dean Department of Students Welfare Prof. Rais Ahmad Qadri highlighted the activities made by his department for the up-liftment of Students with Disabilities and put forth that his Department will provide every cooperation to CRC J&K for the betterment of Specially Abled Persons and welcomed all the dignitaries / participants.
Meanwhile, the Director CRC J&K Dr. Mir Zafar Iqbal focused on the academic, clinical and outreach activities being carried out by CRC J&K. He also highlighted the future plans and rehabilitation courses to be carried out by CRC in near future. He also welcomed all the Dignitaries, Representatives of various Institutions / NGOs for participating in the said programme.
During the said occasion various aids & appliances like wheelchairs, crutches, and smart canes walking sticks were distributed among the needy beneficiaries on spot in presence of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmad, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Rais Ahmad Qadri, Disco Social Welfare Kashmir Bashir Ahmad and other representatives of various institutes.
Various cultural events, naats, etc. were organized by the students of CRC J&K during the occasion. Also various schemes being implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India like ADIP scheme, DDRS scheme, and Scholarship schemes in the interest of Persons with Disabilities were highlighted during the said event. News reports about renewal of old vehicle documents baseless: Transport Authorities
Srinagar, Dec 03, KDC: Transport Authorities on Thursday out rightly refuted the news reports about the renewal of old vehicle documents of 15 years old vehicles without any documentation and termed it as baseless.
A top official of transport department Kashmir, told news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) that the news reports that went viral on social networking sites are completely baseless adding that we have only given extension to such vehicles sometimes 5 years or sometimes 10 and after such vehicle were proved disastrous for environmental stability, and the process will remain continue in future also.
Earlier, news reports went viral wherein it was stated that no documents of 15 years old vehicles will be renewed onwards, saying special teams have been given the task to look into the matter and act accordingly.
Officials appealed people not to pay heed to rumors and repose a good faith on authorities. (KDC)
