Srinagar, July 19, KDC: In a major boost to the Peoples Conference, former deputy director Health Services Kashmir Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo is joining the party today.
Sources told Kashmir Dot Com that joining of Chalkoo would boost electoral prospects of the party in Uri assembly segment of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, where the party already has a significant presence.
Senior party leader and former IGP Raja Aijaz Ali has significant influence in the Uri Assembly segment and stood second in 2014 Assembly polls.
Syed Najeeb Naqvi, a former Congress leader, had also joined PC last year. (KDC)
