Srinagar, May 09, KDC: A cop hours after he was attacked by militants at Ali Jan road in summer capital Srinagar, succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
They told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the cop identified as Ghulam Hassan, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, a resident of Daniwar Eidgah, was travelling in his bike on way to duty (PCR) when he was shot by militants near Aiwa Bridge. The cop was immediately rushed to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to injuries late evening.
A police officer confirmed the death of the cop to KDC and said a case under relevant sections of law is being registered. Massive searches are on to nab the attackers, he added. (KDC)
