Srinagar, May 11, KDC: SEECC leaders, on Tuesday, in a meeting, that was rather of necessitous nature apropos certain compelling issues of emergent essence the top brass of School Education Employees’ Coordination Committee (SEECC) met Director School Education Kashmir, Dr Tassaduq Hussain Mir. It was a maiden experience yet the culmination went on an affirmative note and most satisfying one owing to the fact that the worthy Director is not at all a man of tall talks and not an ounce of practice, rather he is altogether reverse of this infamous saying. A man of few words but immense execution. Quick to respond, firm in action and above all else, a principled one. The SEECC team comprised of Dr Manzoor Ahmad, Muhammad Akbar Khan, Farooq Ahmad Tantray, Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Muhammad Shafi Rather, Muhammad Akbar Dar and Javeed Gul.

The quorum took up all the issues staring starkly in the face of the organization for immediate attention. Dr Tassaduq Hussain Mir was told about the matter related to the transition and regulation of the erstwhile RETs besides the problem of some among the lot who reportedly have adverse reports. Sensing the sensitivity of the issue worthy Director pledged a fast track redress the results of which must be expected too soon by the grace of Lord Almighty. While discussing the issues three representatives of the suffering lot were also taken on board who got complete satisfaction afterwards, meanwhile it was besought of the chair that at least some portion of the salary be released in favour of these people upon which he affirmed with a nod.

About DDO power, Worthy Director resolved the issue within snapping of the fingers. Those lying in his jurisdiction were issued orders instantly and rest he himself got done from Secretariat hassle-free. Dr Tassaduq Hussain Mir assured the leaders that the confirmation of master’s 2014 batch will be done on priority.

When updated about the dilly dallying over the time bound promotion cases of teachers that are lingering on at CEO’s Offices in different districts worthy Director passed on the spot directions to accelerate the process so that it can gain impetus. He expressed his concern over that delay shall have its direct bearing on the resolution of arrears of the concerned. At the same time it was brought into the notice of the worthy officer that his GPF section was under staffed and needed extra personnel to meet the demand for which he agreed in principle and assured of finding a via media.

Assured Career Progression (ACP) in favour of the lecturers was also demanded on the same analogy as the worthy Director has got done for his own Cadre. At the same time it was said that the adjustment of lecturers who are awaiting for the same be done without any further delay. Filling of vacant posts too was tabled as an important demand by the quorum as there are a good number of posts lying vacant at different levels in the department, both in officer and official cadres. Besides this the members present in the meeting also pleaded on behalf of the In-Charge SOs whose adjustment too is long pending and overdue now. A fervent appeal on behalf of CPWs was also made that some percentage of their pending salary may be released forthwith owing to the festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

In the meeting the most important issue that was discussed was concerning the teaching-learning process during the pandemic. Though the leaders expressed satisfaction over the online system but raised the loopholes, drawbacks, and lacunae due to the non-availability of high end gadgets or even low versions of handsets of mobile phones which leave a good number of students, especially that of the Government Schools unattended. In spite of the LMS in vogue the fact is that the whole population of students registered with our schools are not covered under its ambit. In this regard it was suggested to worthy Director that he must rope in the best resources available with him in the department for all subjects and seek collaboration with State sponsored TV and Radio to reach out to such deprived lot. Dr Tassaduq Hussain Mir appreciated the suggestion and pledged to do the needful at an earliest. The proposal is to conduct at least 4 classes a day on each of the electronic media.

Pertinently there were some other sideline issues discussed in the meeting that shall he brought to fore at the appropriate time and stage.

The meeting ended on a positive note and reportedly it was learned that afterwards worthy Director has sought another meeting with his field staff to fulfill all the promises made in the meeting with SEECC leaders. (PR)
