Sarpanch shot dead in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 9: A panchayat representative was shot dead Wednesday by militants in the Khonmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar.

A police official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that militants fired upon a Sarpanch who sustained critical injuries.

He was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The slain Sarpanch has been identified as Sameer Ahmed Bhat. (KDC)
