Srinagar, Mar 20, KDC: Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Saturday transferred four of its Enforcement Officers and posted them as Zonal Sanitation Officers respectively.

Meanwhile Srinagarians have welcomed the move as illegal structures were in full glare in the city and they have hoped the malpractice and inefficiency in the SMC will end soon.

According to an order issued by SMC (a copy of which lies with KDC) four enforcement officers, Urfan Hussain Mir, Incharge Enforcement officer East, Mehraj ud din Chowdhry, I/C Enforcement officer Central/North, Mujeeb Hussain, I/C Enforcement officer South, Mohammad Yousuf Qazi, I/C Enforcement officer West shall be deemed to have been relieved from their present place of postings and will look after as I/C Zonal Sanitation Officers of respective areas.

Pertinently KDC has carried out many stories in the past regarding the irregularities, inefficiency, and incompetence among the officers of SMC in delivering their professional duties.

People have also appealed that remaining deadwood be removed from the corporation, so that its functioning gets streamlined. (KDC)
