Srinagar, Nov 3, KDC: The Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr. Basharat Qayoom, has ordered the withholding of salaries of three Enforcement Officers following a review of enforcement activities.
As per an official order issued on November 3, 2026, a copy of which is in the possession of news agency Kashmir Dot Com, the decision was taken pursuant to directions passed during a review meeting of enforcement activities held at 3:30 pm today.
The officers whose salaries have been withheld are Riyaz Ahmad, Enforcement Officer for South Zone; Mujeeb Hussain, West Zone and Muhammad Yousuf, who oversees East and North Zones.
The order, issued by the Joint Commissioner (Administration), SMC, states that their salaries shall remain withheld until further orders. However, the order does not specify the reasons behind the action. (KDC)
