Srinagar, November 2, KDC: The Budgam district administration has granted permission for the observance of the death anniversary of the father of Srinagar Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on November 3 at Behishti Zehra Park in Budgam.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate Budgam, the programme will be held between 10 am and 1 pm, with a large public gathering expected to attend.

The order follows a communication received from the office of the Srinagar MP on October 29, informing the administration about the proposed observance. The District Magistrate subsequently sought a report from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, who conveyed a no-objection to the programme on November 2, subject to certain conditions.

The administration has permitted the gathering at the designated venue while making it clear that no rally or procession will be allowed. The event must remain peaceful and confined to Behishti Zehra Park, with organisers required to ensure that traffic movement is not disrupted and no law-and-order situation arises.

The permission also prohibits the display of banners, posters or other material deemed inimical to the interests of the country, as well as provocative speeches or activities that could lead to violence, hatred or communal disharmony.

The District Magistrate has cautioned that any violation of the stipulated conditions could lead to cancellation of the permission and action under relevant laws. (KDC)
