Srinagar, Sept 28, KDC: BJP legislators disrupted Question Hour in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday, demanding the removal of Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather from the chair.
The disruption followed BJP MLA R.S. Pathania’s objection to allowing resolutions referring to autonomy in the House, alleging that the Speaker’s conduct was against the doctrine of separation of powers.
BJP members alleged that the Speaker was biased and demanded his removal from the chair.
Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma said the region was sensitive and argued that references to the pre-1953 position were unconstitutional. (KDC)
