Ganderbal, Apr 16: Continuing its drive against social evils and illegal activities, Ganderbal Police apprehended two persons involved in gambling in the Harran area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal.

The accused have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Aziz Dar, and Naseer Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat—both residents of Khun-Harran in Ganderbal district.

Police said that during the operation, stake money amounting to ₹2,300 along with a deck of playing cards was recovered from their possession.

In this regard, a case under FIR No. 57/2026 has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal under Section 13 of the Gambling Act, and further investigation is underway.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining public order and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting any illegal activities in their areas.
