Srinagar, Jan 8, KDC: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, will preside over the main function of Republic Day celebrations 2026 at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, where he will also take the salute, officials said in an official communication.
According to the directive issued by the government, all officers and officials stationed in Jammu—including those serving in government departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)—have been instructed to attend the Republic Day function as part of their official duty.
The communication further mandates that all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Chief Executives of PSUs must ensure their own presence, along with the participation of employees working under their administrative control, to observe the national event with due solemnity and patriotic commitment.
Additionally, the Beating Retreat Ceremony, marking the conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations, will be held on January 29, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the same venue—Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu. Officers and officials stationed in Jammu have also been directed to attend the ceremony, with HoDs and PSU Chief Executives responsible for ensuring participation of their subordinate staff. (KDC)
