Shopian, November 13KDC: In its sustained drive to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support structures, Shopian Police on Thursday carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across the district linked with members and associates of the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and the Jammu & Kashmir National Front (JKNOP).
According to police officials, the coordinated raids are part of the ongoing crackdown aimed at identifying individuals and networks allegedly involved in extending logistical or financial assistance to terror-related activities in the region.
The searches were conducted at several identified locations following credible inputs about the involvement of certain persons in unlawful activities, officials said. They added that operations are continuing at various sites as part of a larger preventive strategy to disrupt any attempts to revive the separatist-terror nexus in south Kashmir.
In a statement, Shopian Police said the operation forms part of their “continued efforts to strengthen the security framework in the district.”
“Shopian Police reiterates its commitment to uphold the rule of law and maintain a peaceful environment by acting firmly against elements attempting to disturb public order,” the statement added.
