Budgam, Nov 7, KDC: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues to remain in place, accusing the two parties of deceiving the public for political gain.
Addressing a public gathering in Budgam, Abdullah urged people not to be misled by the PDP’s political tactics. He said his government is committed to fulfilling its promise of providing 200 units of free electricity to households.
“We have promised 200 free units, and God willing, we will fulfill that commitment. To benefit from this, do not fall for the PDP’s political tactics,” Abdullah said.
He criticized the PDP leadership for installing electricity meters in government offices without ensuring relief for common citizens. “Consumption should be counted only where meters are installed. If a meter is unnecessary, it should not be used,” he added, explaining that billing would be based on actual usage.
Accusing the PDP of ignoring past mistakes and targeting individuals for political reasons, Abdullah said that despite forming an alliance with the BJP, the party continues to mislead people.
He asserted that the National Conference government’s focus remains on welfare measures for the financially vulnerable and on generating employment opportunities for youth. (KDC)
