SRINAGAR, SEPT 04, KDC: The University of Kashmir has achieved a remarkable milestone in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, securing the 34th position in the Overall University category, a significant jump from its 45th rank last year. The University has also been ranked 8th among State Public Universities, reaffirming its position as a premier centre of higher learning.

Importantly, Kashmir University continues to be the only university from Jammu & Kashmir to feature among the country’s top-ranked institutions.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan, as per Kashmir Dot Com, described the achievement as a reflection of the University’s steady upward journey in academic excellence, research output, and innovation. She extended her gratitude to Chancellor Manoj Sinha, Pro-Chancellor Omar Abdullah, Higher Education Minister J&K  Sakina Itoo, and Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education J&K Shantmanu (IAS) for their support.

Prof. Nilofer Khan also congratulated the faculty, scholars, students, and staff for their hard work and commitment. “This milestone is a testament to our collective resolve to strengthen the academic ecosystem and contribute meaningfully to society. Together, we will continue to scale new heights and uphold the University’s legacy of excellence,” she said.

The University of Kashmir has consistently maintained top positions in national rankings, underscoring its growing reputation as a hub of quality education and research. (KDC)
