Srinagar, Feb 12, KDC: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is chairing a high-level security meeting in Srinagar to review the overall security situation and ongoing counter-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting, being held at the Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar, follows a security review chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah a day earlier. Officials said the discussion is focused on implementing key decisions taken at the Centre and assessing their impact on the ground.

Senior security officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Home Secretary Chandraker Bharti, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, and IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, are attending.

Officers from central paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, all range DIGs, DIGs of J&K Armed Police, SSPs from all districts, and Commandants of J&K Armed Police units are also participating.

According to top security officials, the meeting is addressing key concerns, including counter-terror operations, infiltration attempts, and the growing drug abuse problem in Kashmir. Discussions are centered on strengthening intelligence networks, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and curbing narcotics smuggling, which is often linked to terror financing.

Security has been tightened across Srinagar and other sensitive areas in light of the meeting. The session is expected to conclude with directives on intensifying counter-terror efforts, improving intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and implementing a comprehensive strategy to combat drug trafficking in J&K.
