Srinagar, Feb 10, KDC: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Monday criticized the suspension of two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) assigned to her daughter and party leader, Iltija Mufti.
“Ironic and unfair that Iltija’s two PSOs have been suspended for no fault of their own. They were punished simply because Iltija managed to reach Kathua despite being confined to her home like a criminal,” Mehbooba said in a post on X as per Kashmir Dot Com.
She also questioned the lack of action against those responsible for the recent civilian deaths.
“Meanwhile, there has been no reported action against those responsible for the deaths of Waseem Mir in Sopore or Makhan Din in Billawar,” she added.
Taking a dig at the ruling National Conference (NC), Mehbooba accused the party of failing to uphold its electoral promises.
“The NC government, which came to power promising security and dignity for the people, remains a silent observer. By normalizing such unjust actions, they are shirking their responsibilities,” she said. (KDC)
